Mumford & Sons, with Ben Howard and The Felice Brothers, TD Garden, Boston, February 5th, 2013.
I am always so shocked when bands sound better than their recorded music. Mumford & Sons prove this, one hundred percent. But I’m not surprised. They’re the Gentleman of the Road, the ‘refined indie wine’, as I call them.
Ben Howard (Marcus Mumford referred to Ben as England’s Elvis Presley) opened for them, and then bluegrass/rock band The Felice Brothers played a really energetic set. It was an amazing night. These musicians surpass great expectations.
What’s great about Mumford & Sons is how cohesive they are as a band. They’re lovers of music, they’re brothers (not really, but you know what my point is), and humble people too.
I’ll post some links of clips I took at the concert once I get them on Youtube. For now I leave you with some passing words that they’re a band to be remembered years down the road.
